Dais guest Harry Elston was a founding member of the 1960s vocal group The Friends of Distinction, known for such hits as "Grazing in the Grass," "Love or Let Me Be Lonely" and "Going in Circles." Joan van Ark is also a close friend of the two honorees. The dais was composed of such well-known friends of Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr., each of whom related memories of their association with them over the years. Their remarks indicated a warm comradery and religious connection with the honorees. Joan told her story using 5th Dimension song titles and lyrics, to the delight of luncheon attendees. Our beautiful Art Gilmore Career Achievement Award was presented by PPB President Alan Perris and warmly received by the two honorees, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. They thanked PPB for such a wonderful luncheon, and added their appreciation to each member of the dais for their heartfelt remembrances of their associations.
